Our finishing process
Built slowly, one careful coat at a time.
A strong oil finish depends on preparation, penetration, wipe-off, and enough curing time between applications.
Surface Preparation
The piece is carefully sanded smooth and inspected before finish is applied.
First Application
Tung oil is applied evenly and given time to penetrate the open wood grain.
Excess Removal
Remaining oil is wiped away so the finish cures in the wood instead of becoming sticky on top.
Additional Coats
Multiple applications build depth, color, and more complete protection.
Final Cure
The surface is allowed to cure before delivery and must continue curing as directed before heavy use.
Clean Gently
Use a damp cloth with mild soap, then dry the surface instead of leaving it wet.
